Our Founder, Salman Malik, had the honour of speaking at the Prosper Annual Event February 15th, 2024 in Aberdeen.
Salman shared insights and engaged in vital dialogues about the future of energy, both in Scotland and globally. He discussed his journey in the energy sector and the vision for Veri Energy to transition existing energy infrastructure assets to deliver world scale decarbonisation and new energy opportunities. We are showcasing this capability by transforming the Sullom Voe Terminal in Shetland into a new energy hub.
He highlighted four key elements required to deliver a successful transition:
1. Collaboration: Achieving this vision requires a collaborative effort involving partnerships across industries, governments, and communities.
2. Supportive government policies: A clear, supportive policy framework is crucial for mobilising the billions in capital required to realise our ambitions.
3. Private sector commitment: Companies like EnQuest and Veri Energy, along with financial institutions and investors, all play a pivotal role. Early-stage capital is vital for unlocking the significant economic opportunity in energy transition.
4. Community engagement: Listening to local voices, understanding their needs, and ensuring that the benefits of the green economy are shared are key principles to stand by.
The choices we make today will shape the world for future generations. Let's harness the power of renewables and human ingenuity to create a sustainable tomorrow.
